No Bread, No Pasta…Uh, No Problem? [One Month Challenge]

Honestly, typing down “No” followed by “Bread and Pasta” makes me feel slightly anxious. I’ve decided to do it though; absolutely NO pasta and NO bread for a full month, starting August 1st. Ironically, I just over heard my boss ask whether we’d like to order sandwiches or pizza to the office in honor of Summer Fridays. Starting next week, these kind of lunches won’t be an option for me any more.
There simply aren’t many dishes that can measure up to a warm bowl of creamy pasta topped with a pile of Parmesan cheese. I would much rather be doing “Only Eat Bread and Pasta” for a month, but obviously that wouldn’t be much of a challenge for me. And as my dear friend smartly put it: “You can’t keep eating bagels if you don’t want to end up looking like one”. Yup, true that.
It’s not like I stuff my face with bread and pasta every day as it is, but I have to admit that a cut down on my weekly intake wouldn’t hurt. And in this case, restraining from pasta and bread altogether for a while will likely prove to be a good step in reteaching myself healthy eating habits. Eating too much bread always makes me feel bloated, and spending an hour at the gym really isn’t an excuse to down two portions of pasta. I’m in need of rehab, basically!
My plan is to replace all of my breakfast bagels with plain yogurt and/or berries, and every time I feel the urge to whip together a delicious pasta meal, I’ll make myself an omelet or salad instead. Along the way I’m also hoping to get more creative regarding my food choices.
Do you tend to OD on bread and pasta? Feel like sharing some useful tips on healthy food options that work as a replacement? Please leave tips below!

I just thought I'd give you some tips to help you with your challenge:
In place of buns or bread for sandwiches I like to use lettuce or cabbage. Or you can try making cloud bread, which is just eggs, cottage cheese or cream cheese, cream of tarter, and sweetener of your choice, Here is the recipe: http://www.food.com/recipe/carb-free-cloud-bread-…
As for a pasta swap. I love spaghetti squash. It's extremely satisfying in my opinion and can be prepared in numerous ways.
Good luck and I hope my tips help.

I second spaghetti squash but it can get pricey. I've found zucchini squash peeled with a julienne peeler to be a GREAT sub for spaghetti noodles. Doesn't have much of a taste so it absorbs the taste of whatever sauce you use. Good luck!

Last month i told my husband that it would be a great idea if we gave up certain food that for sure pack on the pounds. Well since I am in training for the 3-Day I decided that we would go one month without bread & pasta. starting the month of may. I just happened to put in No bread for one Month and this site poped up. So my husband and are both going to do this challenge. I am so excited to see how much weight we both lose.. I heard that you can use cauliflower as mashed potatoes instead of real potatoes so it is on.
