Rashida Jones on Whether Men and Women Can Be Just Friends
It’s been awhile since a movie has really hit me hard. You know what I mean, when a movie affects you so you actually feel the characters’ pain — the emotions, the love, that punch in the gut feeling — but all that literally just changed five seconds ago.
How? Well, I just watched the ‘Celeste and Jesse Forever’ trailer. Oh my god, my insides were actually trembling. The film asks the question: Can two best friends marry each other and still be friends after feelings change and a separation happens? Rashida Jones absolutely KILLS it in her part. She wrote the screenplay and plays the lead role so you can totally tell that she just gets it. Maybe that’s because she just went through a situation similar to that of the movie’s characters. She’s just so real. But her “realness” doesn’t stop in the film.
In a recent interview, she gave us insight on her feelings regarding men, love and life after that one man and that one love. And after reading this, I think I might love her more than I thought possible. Click here to read her interview and find out how she answers that impossible question. You will genuinely want console her, want to hug her and want to make it all better. Well, at least I did…
