That Time I Had A Psychic Reading

I do a lot of work with PR reps, but usually for makeup and hair products. When I got the offer to have a psychic reading from Hollywood Psychics, I immediately said yes. I’ve always wanted to try it just for fun to see what all the fuss was about. It would be entertaining to say the least. So we set up a time for me to call in. The first attempt didn’t work from miscommunication, and I was all “It’s probably a bad sign that my psychic stood me up.” We finally got everything settled, and I called in today.

When the automated menu came on the phone it stated, “This service is for entertainment purposes only!” I know this, but it kind of killed the mood. I mean I wasn’t in some gypsy tent with a crystal ball, but I was doing my best to believe the situation. When you call in you go through a menu of “advisors” ready to give you a reading. They tell you what their specialty and their style of reading. I chose Daphne because she sounded calm and is a Tarot card specialist. I always wanted to have a card reading, so away we went!

At first I wanted to ask if she knew what I had for breakfast or some other obnoxious question, but I resisted. I told her I was writing an article about the experience, and she asked if I had any specific questions or any topics of concern. I told her about my big life change: moving to New York. Daphne started laying out cards and said “Oh this is all very good!” As someone with a lot of bad luck in my past, this was great. She said I have a new job that I’m really going to enjoy, and I’m going to do well financially. Then she said I’m going to meet the love of my life, probably in the same line of work, and we’re going to be married by the end of 2014.

Woah there! I’m all for meeting the love of my life, but we’re already halfway through 2012. Too soon. This will be the happiest time of my life, and I’m going to find a balance that I’ve never had. Although I’m “not a huge partier” (HA!) the nightlife will agree with me. I might take up an art class. Daphne asked if I had a place to live yet (I don’t) and said I’ll probably have some trouble finding a place right away. Already dealing with that, so she was right. She said I probably won’t stay in New York long, which is true since I eventually want to come back to the South.

Daphne said that although my energy is bright, she kept seeing the color beige but wasn’t sure why. She also said Nebraska will be significant so I should write it down. Also, blue and white horizontal stripes. Huh? No clue. When the session was almost over, I asked Daphne if anything bad was going to happen. Much like my therapist she said, “Why do you think something bad will happen?” Fortunately, nothing bad is in the cards (PUN!).

It was pretty interesting, and I’m glad I had the chance to call in. I don’t think I’m going to be married by 2014 or have anything to do with Nebraska, but it’s fun to talk to someone who’s completely removed from your life about your future. I have a few dollars left on my account too, so I might call back in a few months to see how things are looking.

Have you ever had a psychic reading? Did any of the predictions come true? Was it totally off base? Let me know in the comments!

That sounded like a cool experience! Maybe buy a new blue and white striped top?

I liked your post. It is quite interesting. Yes, I have got readings from Meryem and her predictions had actually happened with me.

I enjoy getting them from time to time almost like psychotherapy in a way, costs less lol. Sometimes just having a person put your mind at ease helps you cope the most.
