There are still a few glorious weeks left of summer, and whether you plan to spend it lounging by the pool or shopping in the city, you’re going to need a sunhat. We’ve got you covered. Liven up a plain floppy straw hat with an on trend pop of color with this simple DIY. All you need to do is pick your favorite color (pinks and oranges look really pretty) and dye away!

What You’ll Need:

  • A Floppy Straw Hat (this one from forever 21 is great)
  • Dye in your choice of color (Glitter N Glue reccommends rit dye)

How to Dip Dye Your Hat:

Prepare a tub of dye according to your dye’s instructions. Immerse half of the hat’s brim in the dye for 5 minutes, then remove. Then re-dip the bottom part of the hat in the dye for 10 minutes – this creates a cool graduated effect where the bottom edge of the hat is darker than the middle part of the brim. Leave to dry, and voila, you’re done!
