During the summer, your to-do list was probably pretty simple — lounge by the pool, meet up with friends for drinks, play beach volleyball, buy more sunscreen — but now that classes are back in session, you’ve got classes, homework, papers, internship or grad school applications and more to worry about.

How do you keep it all organized? Let me introduce you to my new favorite productivity tool, kanban2go. kanban2go is a virtual, visual to-do list that sorts all your tasks into one of three categories: To Do, In Progress and Done. The categories are displayed as side-by-side columns, and you can easily drag-and-drop items from one column to another once you start working on them or they’ve been completed.

Viewing your tasks in this way can help you prioritize what needs to be done first, by focusing only on the “In Progress” column. Once you’ve completed a task, move it to the “Completed” side. Seeing what you’ve been able to finish helps you feel more accomplished!

The “To Do” column can be used to put tasks that you know need to be done, but aren’t urgent. This makes sure nothing falls off your radar, and is great for keeping track of things like term papers that you know are coming up eventually.

You can also create multiple boards on kanban2go, so you can stay organized by making separate ones for classes, work, internships and your personal life. However, you can easily view tasks from all your boards by choosing the “Activity” view — this sorts tasks from all your boards into one of the three categories, quickly allowing you to see what the most pressing deadlines are.

By staying organized with kanban2go, you’ll be sure to ace all your courses this year!
