7 Things I Wish I Knew Starting Freshman Year

Freshman year was literally the biggest transformation I’ve ever been through. That whole college experience thing is totally real and totally awesome. College changes you, it’s a well-known fact, and it changed the hell out of me. I went into college with a high school sweetheart, expecting to never party, never club, never skip a class, and to spend all my extra time with my boyfriend and my high school besties, since we were so close. And then bam, 25 days into college and one broken heart later, I’m all alone with barely any friends, and “Someone Like You” on repeat. Damn you, Adele.

Those were sad times. Until, one day, I decided I was sick of being alone, I was sick of feeling sorry for myself, and I was freaking sick of “Someone Like You”. So I threw away my Adele CD, took my ass to the gym, and made new friends. One year, 35 pounds, and countless new friends later, I’m going to be an RA, which basically means Mom in college terms.  I’m going to pride myself on not being a regular mom, I’m going to be a cool mom,  and as a cool mom, I offer these tips I wish I knew when I started school as a dumb little freshman.
