Make A One Of A Kind Color Block Clutch [DYI With CC]

Color block clutches are still one of the must have pieces of the season. However, when you’re on a college budget, buying a new purse may not always be an option. But have no fear! We scoured the internet to bring you readers one of the best DIY videos on how to make a color block clutch. The video we found comes from Lauren Conrad’s website. Below is the video and written instructions as well.

What You’ll Need:

  • an old clutch
  • painter’s tape
  • fabric paint
  • paint brush
  • palette for paint

Step One: Place the painter’s tape onto the bag. You can place it a few inches above the bottom of the bag. Paint the area underneath the tape in whatever color you have chosen.

Step Two: Take off the tape. Take another piece of tape and line it up along the top of the painted area.

Step Three: Place another piece of tape where you would like a stripe above the painted already painted area. Your stripes can be any size you want.

Step Three: Paint your second stripe.

Step Four: Wait a few minutes before you add another coat of paint. Most bags will need 2-3 coats.

Step Five: Remove both strips of tape after the second stripe has dried.

Step Six: Repeat on the other side if desired.

And done! You have a brand new clutch in 20 minutes!
