After my successful dining hall crawl, I’m moving on to my next item from ReadyU’s Conquer This List! This time, I’m tackling #23: Find Something Unique About Your Campus.

ReadyU is the ultimate resource for college students to conquer beyond the classroom. They’ve got all the tips you need to make sure you master college and leave with a boatload of memories. It’s my senior year, and I’m a little bit caught between “please get me out of here!” and “aww, I miss freshman year!” So this is the perfect task for me.

I’m a soon-to-be graduate of Columbia University, a school that I like to joke is almost more famous for its dropouts than its graduates. Don’t believe me? Some of our star dropouts include: Jake Gyllenhaal, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Langston Hughes, Jack Kerouac, and Amelia Earhart. But hey, President Obama got his undergrad degree here, so we must have something going for us.

Another thing about Columbia is that it’s old. Technically older than this country – the school was founded in 1754. Our current campus has been around since 1896, so you know it’s full of funny little “did-you-knows” and historical tidbits.
