What It Is:
Deborah Lippmann Steal My Kisses Magnetic nail polish set
Why This Should Be in Your Bag:
Magnetic nail polish has recently exploded and pretty much every brand has contributed to the trend. Personally, I really love the look of magnetic polish; it gives the illusion of nail art with about 1/4 of the effort and it’s a fun way to spice up your regular manicure.
Deborah Lippmann is THE manicurist for all of Hollywood’s elite. Her polishes are always great quality and come in unique shade. Her magnetic polishes are sold in complementary sets (this is 1 of 2). Since I’m a sucker for purples, I chose “Steal My Kisses” which features Berry Metal, an amethyst shade and Love is a Battlefield, the magenta polish, along with a magnetic cap.
How To Use It:
This was my first foray into the world of magnetic nail polish, but I actually found it to be fairly easy. I only had to redo one nail! Start by applying a thick coat of your chosen shade. Then rest your finger on the ridged portion of the cap and make sure to hold the magnet as close as possible to your nail. Don’t move the magnetic; if you do, the design will be muddled. I let the magnet do its thing for about a minute before removing it. After the minute, check out the design and see if you’re happy with it. If not, remove the polish and start over. I topped my manicure off with a shiny top coat to help it last and look polished.

CC Rating: A
I really love the Deborah Lippmann Steal My Kisses Magnetic Nailpolish Set. The colors are gorgeous and professional on their own, but the added benefit of the magnetic wave design really makes these unique. I received oodles of compliments on my Love is a Battlefield manicure; people are always impressed by the magnetic design. Nail art usually takes forever to properly do, so this is the perfect solution for busy college gals on the go.
The only thing holding this set back from an A+ rating is the price. It’s $36 on its own, which equals $18 a polish. Deborah’s polishes usually run $18 each, so the set isn’t a deal AND you’re roped into buying two polishes, regardless of whether you like the shades. I would have liked to see this set priced at around $28 and I think a lot of girls would be able to justify it, even if they were only in love with one of the polishes. All my friends save up their pennies to buy a Deborah Lippmann, and while you definitely get your money’s worth, I think some girls may rather buy two highly sought after polishes than be forced to buy two to get a magnetic one.
That being said, I love both the purples in this kit! They’re surprisingly professional, so you could definitely wear them to an internship, or for a night on the town. Like I said, the Steal My Kisses set runs at $36 and is available on Deborah’s website, as well as a variety of retailers.
