11 Style Tips From My Middle School Self

Middle school was an awesome time. I was at the height of my awkward stage, definitely a little chubby, and learning to navigate the world of styling myself. I drew inspiration for my middle school fashion from episodes of Laguna Beach and anything they had on sale at Hollister. I learned to pair my finds with whatever “hideous” thing my mom found for me because it “complimented my figure”.

Look, 12 year old Molly knew how to make herself look dang good, and if you don’t believe me you can just go look at the pictures. (But really, don’t, I was a hot mess.) Here are the most useful style tips I still use daily from my middle school self.

      I still rock "damaged" flare jeans, not gonna lie. Skinnies don't work on everyone!

      Also, can you believe they still sell platform flip flops? Who is still wearing those things?

      never saw anyone wearing bell bottoms, they were flared. pretty proud I didn't do any of this,

      HAHAHA I am guilty of doing some of these things in the past too! Beach skirts with stripy socks and boots? I thought I was hot shit.

      I definitely had several moments of rocking out both blue/white eye shadow while in my beach skirt :) Even better was that I lived in Ohio and would do so in the fall.
