Casting Girl Meets World: Our Picks For Riley Matthews

You guys, the best thing that could have ever happened in the existence of best things ever has happened: Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have signed on to Girl Meets World to reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga. If you don’t pee your pants a little over this news, then I hate you. Boy Meets World was one of the greatest shows of our generation. I know you’re lying if you tell me you didn’t sob your eyes out when the series ended.

The new show will follow Cory and Topanga’s 13-year-old daughter, Riley, as she navigates life with her best friend, Maya. And get excited, Maya is likely to be the Shawn Hunter of Riley’s world. Oh and Cory is the new Mr. Feeny. As in a teacher. A history teacher. Specifically, Riley’s history teacher. Cue awkward father-daughter school moments! No word yet on if the other cast members are coming back, but Danielle Fishel said “I promise with the entirety of my heart that we will make GMW with the same honesty, innocence and intelligence.” I’m dying over here.

The million dollar question though is who will play Riley? Check out our possible picks for the new most coveted role in television!

      Why does it have to be celebrities? Couldn't it be just a normal person? I believe that Disney should cast a non-famous person to play the role – it just doesn't seem fair to everybody except celebrities. I hope Disney doesn't choose a beautiful celebrity! Can't for once they choose an average-looking person who is a non-celebrity?

      I do think it would be kind of nice to see execs choose an unknown and give her the role of a lifetime, but for a show with so much hype, there should be some sort of experience there.

      they'll most likely go with a new face. I think sammi henratty is a deadringer for danielle fishel in some of her twitter pics, but she's a touch too old. But then again, the girl who played angela in BMW was in her 30s playing 18.

      I would LOVE to see Bailee Madison or Jackie Evancho! They are both darling and Bailee is one of my favorite kid actresses!

      Sasha Pieterse and Bailee Madison are my favorites out of choices listed above. I honestly know very little about their acting credentials other than what was written above, but looks wise, in my opinion they seem to be the best fit. Bailee looks like the perfect combo of Corey and Topanga while Sasha is a spitting image of Topanga. While I'm solely judging on the way they look, either girl would be great in my opinion. Obviously that could all change if I knew more about the possible choice's acting abilities. Either way, I loved boy meets world as a kid and am wicked excited to see Girl Meets World and whoever they choose to play Riley I'm sure will be a great fit. :)

      I saw when I was Googling the show to find out more about who was playing who and when it was expected to come out, that there was a site that had open castings for Riley. Obviously I have no idea if it was ligit and with all the hype I personally doubt they are going to choose someone who has no "Hollywood" experience but who knows… Maybe it will happen.
      Personally, I don't really care whether the actress who plays Riley is a star or not. As long as she can act and fits the part I'll be happy.

      I think you should choose anyone to be Riley. There ARE kids out there who still love BMW as if it were still on. Like me, you should do another casting call. Those kids probably don’t even know what BMW is about. They probably don’t know the backrounds of all of the characters. I would LOVE to play Riley But I’m not a stupid celebrity. It’s so stupid how everything has to be played ny someone famous. Give all of us people who actually HAVE met the real world. Not those pampered selfish barbies. I’m over here, crying my eyes out because its back on. But I want to see someone new. Give us a chance.
