Equal Gender Representation In Vanity Fair [The Apocalypse]

Everyday until December 21, 2012 we will count down to the end with a sign of the apocalypse. It’s like that movie The Number 23 (except actually good), once you see the signs – they’re everywhere! [These are just jokes, folks!]

Vanity Fair has featured 6 men and 6 of a lesser-known species called “women” on the 3 covers of its January 2013 “Comedy’s New Legends” issue. This will be their first comedy issue, guest edited by Judd Apatow and featuring: Paul Rudd, Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Jim Carey, Will Ferrell, Leslie Mann, Melissa McCarthy, Megan Fox, Kristen Wiig, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph. Equal representation of women and men in such a butch, flannel, pickle-jar opening field of work such as “making people catch a case of the giggles,” has been empirically denied.

Any efforts to present men and their subhuman counterparts as equally funny, intelligent and capable is simply unheard of but most of all simply untrue. As a girl (with ovaries) I feel that it’s important that I uphold my choice to bow down to the greater and more perfect Sith Lord Male Species. As a girl, I must admit I am not even typing this, I have a much more intelligent chimpanzee doing it for me. Girls are too stupid to be funny, a major publication (by Conde Nast, no less!) vindicating female comedians and comedy writers is proof of the apocalypse if nothing else.
