The Grammy nominations have been announced and six artists are set to sweep them this year. Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons, Fun, The Black Keys,  Jay-Z and Kanye  have each been nominated for six Grammys. I was surprised because Watch The Throne was released in August 2011. It seems a bit weird to still be honoring that album at the February 2013 awards? Women are notably absent from the Album of the Year and Best New Album categories. See the full list of nominations here.

Speaking of Frank Ocean, Spin has declared Channel Orange the #1 Album of the Year.

“He pleasantly mosied into our consciousness a year ago, but this year Frank Ocean Tumblr’d into the tabloid glare (with subtle grace, it must be said). And, in a shocking turn of events, he deserved every last gush and blush of attention. Despite Kendrick Lamar’s undeniable accomplishment, there was never a doubt about 2012′s Album of the Year. Roll on, deep and dark blue Ocean, roll.”

My Blood Valentine have reunited and are touring everywhere but the U.S. so farI am not pleased.

Paramore is releasing another album

Beyonce continues to have the cutest outfits and top buns on Instagram, even if Wendy Williams says she sounds like a 5th grader. Wendy said:

“I am a Beyonce fan. I’m gonna be watching this documentary cause fortunately one of the TVs in our kitchen has closed captioning so I’ll be able to understand what she says. You know Beyonce can’t talk. Beyonce sounds like she has a fifth grade education. She can’t talk. Honestly. We really do have the closed captioning for times like that.”
