The holiday season is in full swing. Is your shopping almost done?
If you’re anything like me, I’m going to go with a big fat NO. Sure, some people start early, even before Thanksgiving. And they get everything they want for everyone right away. But part of the fun of holiday shopping is shopping when music is blasting and stores are packed and the air is filled with the scent of peppermint and sugar cookies. That is holiday shopping. But remember ladies, it’s not as relaxed as it might seem. Shopping for holiday sales and scores is an athletic event too, and you need just the right uniform.
Layer, layer, layer
I HATE going to the mall with a coat on, and then carrying that coat around the mall the entire time I am there. So instead of bringing a coat, I just wear a sweater with a cardigan or a vest thrown over it. Then I simply take that item, fold it, and put it in one of my shopping bags when I get hot. Add a hat, gloves, or a scarf to the occasion too, depending on how cold it is in your area. Those accessories will fit in your bag a lot nicer than a giant puffy coat.
Wear comfortable footwear
Flat boots? Sneakers? Oxfords? Go for it. Leave the stacked heels and the stilettos at home for this particular trip. After all how exactly will you be able to tackle that mom who took the last sweater in a size small if you’re running in heels?
Get in the spirit
As the holidays get closer the stores get crazier. Music is blaring. Cookies are baking. And everyone is wearing red. So have a little fun with your wardrobe too. Wear a goofy hair, or some fair isle leggings, or even a sweater in a Christmas green or a bright red. Then grab a peppermint latte and hit the stores.
What do you think?
What do you normally wear when you go shopping? Do you think about it strategically or just throw on anything? And more importantly, how much shopping to you have left to do this season?
