Why for you so cold, Winter? Get it together, Nature. The worst part of winter – OK, maybe not the worst – but one of the downsides is dry skin and lips. It’s almost impossible to not have to change your skincare routine when you’re dealing with cold, dry weather. Enter: face masks. Homemade facials are an awesome way to restore the moisture on your skin without spending a lot of money or adding more damaging chemicals. Here are two super easy, moisture rich masks that you can make with regular household products.
Avocado & Honey Face Mask
You will need:
2 tablespoons of avocado flesh
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg yolk
Instructions: Put all the ingredients in a blender or mash by hand in a bowl. Spread the mask over your face and neck. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes. The longer the better. Avocado will leave the skin moisturized an plump, while the sulfur and eggs will help to clear up any blemishes.
Honey and Egg Mask
You will need:
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon almond oil
1 tablespoon yogurt
Instructions: Put all ingredients into a large bowl and stir until it becomes sticky and thick. Leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes, rinse of, then wash face with your regular cleanser. Yogurt has soothing antibacterial properties and will help refine and tighten pores, the almond oil is crazy moisturizing, while the honey will pick up dry skin, leaving your face smooth as a baby’s butt.
