Well, I knew this day would come eventually: I sadly am leaving CollegeCandy. I’ve been with CollegeCandy since the end of my senior year of high school, which is a little under 5 years ago. I remember the day I found CC. I was looking for advice on choosing a school since I hadn’t quite made up my mind yet. I stumbled upon this wonderful place and knew I wanted to be a part of it.
I sent an email to the editor at the time, submitted some writing samples, and then I was told I’d be a good freshman voice. How exciting! It was close to a year later that an email went out saying we needed someone to do video beauty blog. I was a broadcast news major, and I thought what an awesome way to get some on camera experience. And obviously I loved makeup. The rest is kind of history.
CC Beauty Live took on a form of its own. I was still writing, but it really ate into a lot of my time. I loved every second of it. Last year, I interned with CollegeCandy and became a weekend editor on top of video. It really solidified what I wanted to do with my life, and I am so grateful. And when you all took a liking to Chronicles and an interest in my life, I became even more thankful for this opportunity.
You all have been here for me in ways I can’t even explain. I’ve shared so much with you, and your support has meant the world to me. Even though there are a bunch of trolls that hate me, there are more of you that have been supportive and loving and kind. I never thought this would have happened five years ago when I blindly sent an email to an editor. CollegeCandy has given me the most amazing opportunities in life.
It’s led me to New York, a place I love and adore. And it’s through the experiences, knowledge, and connections I’ve gained here that I landed my new job. I’m now working at Gurl, which CC has a great relationship with. As hard as it is to part ways with a place and community that has given me so much, I’m so excited to move onto this new opportunity. While CC Beauty Live is over, I’m still carrying on doing videos on my personal YouTube channel and my website. Chronicles will be moved over to my site and will still go up every Sunday at 5 pm EST! You can still tweet me and email me and see me on Instagram! I promise I’m still going to be around.
I seriously don’t have enough words to possibly thank you all for everything you’ve done for me. You really have no idea how much you have impacted my life, and I love you all so much for it. It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later (on a different space).
