The Perfect On-The-Go Breakfast Smoothie [Intro to Cooking]

The perfect ending to your weekend! A frozen fruit smoothie is a nutritious and inexpensive way to start your day, and if you’re anything like me on the weekends, your wallet can use the break!

Though I often enjoy this as a snack, it would be great alongside a full breakfast!

-1 tsp. honey
-1 c. plain yogurt
-1/2 apple, roughly chopped
-1/2 c. frozen mixed berries
-1/2 c. frozen cherries

Cook Time: 5 minutes
Supplies: Immersion Blender, blender, smoothie maker, or food processor
Yields: 2 servings

1. Start with honey in a tumbler or mixing cup. Microwave for 15 seconds, to allow for easier blending.
2. Add 1 c. yogurt and 1/2 of an apple, roughly chopped.  Blend until apples are liquefied.
3. Add in frozen berries and cherries. Blend lightly.
4. Serve and devour immediately!

Full Disclosure: The immersion blender I shared above is the one I use in my home. I am sharing it with you without prompt or knowledge of Cuisinart®.

    1. This is a gorgeous recipe. The tip to heat the honey was useful too and it gave the drink just the right amount of sweetness. Very nice !

Great recipe. Never though about microvawing the ingredients though. I always just waited around or (lately) tossed them in my blender frozen. But will deffinetly try to preheat it before, but in that case I guess you have do "freeze" them up a bit? Well thank god I have probably the best blender for smoothies out there, lets just hope I dont eat my words at the end:) Thank you for sharing.
