New Star Wars Game Will Have Same-Sex Romance Option [Candy Dish]

Jeff Hickman, the executive producer of Star Wars: The Old Republic, announced that there will be a same-gender romance option in the new video game. This is a huge, huge deal. Skyrim already allows for the possibility but it’s important that other games catch up. Hickman said, with an apology,“I want to apologize that this is taking so long to get in the game. I realize that we promised SGR [same gender romance] to you guys and that many of you believed that this would be with a companion character… As we have said in the past, allowing same gender romance is something we are very supportive of.” Pretty cool.

    Just to clarify, it's The Old Republic that's getting SGR, not "Knights of" the Old Republic. But very cool.

    It isn't a new game, it's just an MMO that came out a bit ago now going free to play. I do think it's cool that they are allowing same sex marriage, but I think it's REALLY important to point out that it you can do it only on ONE PLANET in the game!! You also have to pay to get there too.
