Check Out Cory And Topanga’s Daughter Riley!

Rowan Blanchard is taking on the role of Cory and  Topanga’s daughter, Riley. She is perfect. Like, seriously? She’s got so much little girl swag. Can you picture this itty-bit wearing a backwards cap, sassing her way through middle school and riding a vinyl skateboard? OK, maybe that’s not what her character will be like at all, but if she’s anything like her mom and dad she will be a bit of a smart ass and a bit of a lovable screw up. Creator Michael Jacobs said,“As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews.Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”

I hope the show remains down to earth and smart in its simplicity the way Boy Meets World was. I think we’re a bit over saturated with shows about teenagers who want to be famous or glamorous in some way. I’d like a few more shows that are just about what it’s like to grow up and come of age, instead of farcical plots about becoming a famous blogger, pop singer and fashionista.

Anyway, we did a bit of face math to see if Rowan is really what Cory and Topanga’s kid would actually look like. Let’s just say, we’re better off with Rowan. She looks a bit like Derpina.
