Rappers really need you to know that they have a lot of money. No, they really NEED it. It’s not enough for them to sell millions of records, cover magazines and snag late night television performances – they really need you to know that they have more money than you. Could you imagine Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep, Woody Allen or Leo DiCaprio bragging about their yachts, mansions and excessive income? Of course not. Only rappers can get away with being so outwardly superficial to the point of ridiculousness. It’s kind of awesome. Rappers aren’t really in it for the “art” they’re in it for the money and fame – I am glad they can be upfront about that kind of thing when many celebrities pretend like their integrity comes before anything, which sometimes just isn’t true.
