When Mario Lopez first questioned Mila on whether or not she’d be interested in playing Anastasia she told him, “no.” Now Mila Kunis is expressing some serious interest in playing Anastasia and we don’t know how to feel. She recently told The Sun, “There are times when you just want to do something fun and different, because you’re going to have a good time doing it.” We’re sure it’d be fun to play Anastasia, Mila but as much as we love you, we don’t think it’d be perfect casting. Mila playing Anastasia would kind of subvert the whole story, it would feel ironic, it would pull you out of what was happening – it would feel comedic.
Entertainment Wise also reports, “Others to be linked to the role include Lucy Hale, Emma Watson, Shailene Woodley and of course Twilight star Kristen Stewart, while Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder are among the favourites to play other red room of pain resident Christian G.”
I could see Lucy Hale as Anastasia. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the role of Anastasia belongs to an unknown. Someone who can become Anastasia, not “starring so-and-so as Anastasia.” Let’s face it, most Hollywood actresses just aren’t chameleons and never abandon their off-screen personas.
