Delicious Apple and Pecan Oatmeal [Intro to Cooking]

Sometimes, all we need is a good comfort food. I know for me, that’s oatmeal. The problem is, oatmeal can get super boring after awhile. Thankfully, that’s why there’s this thing called the Internet that has a bunch of different recipes and special tricks to spruce up even the dullest tasting oatmeal! Here’s one of my favorites below! Yum!


  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 2 tsp. honey
  • 1/4 of a large apple, diced
  • 1/4 cup pecans
  • 1/4 cup milk

Cook time: 10 minutes

Yields: 2 servings


  1. Bring water to boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Add oats. Cook five minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add honey and allow to dissolve.
  4. Add apple and allow to cook until apple softens.
  5. A splash milk to adjust to desired consistency.
  6. Remove from heat and serve with pecans on top.

      I take something similar but I add mashed banana and chopped dates and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Very tasty, but I'll definitely give your apple and pecan recipe a try.
