Remember last summer when “Call Me Maybe” swept the nation harder than the Macarena? When everyone at the bar, the entire American Olympic swimming team and even your mom started singing “Hey I just met you, and this is crazy…”, you knew the song had become a cultural phenomenon. Even now, I can’t help but get excited when the song comes on the radio! Well, guys, are you ready for round two? Because I’ve got some exciting news for you.

Coke and American Idol® have once again teamed up to launch Perfect Harmony, and this year they are partnering with the multi-platinum pop sensation and “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen!

Beginning March 20th, Carly’s fans (that means YOU!) can visit American Idol’s Perfect Harmony site to listen to the opening segment of her new song. Over the course of four weeks during the show, you’ll be invited to listen to three different lyrics and vote on the ones you like best. And guess what? The lyrics with the most votes will be incorporated into that week’s verse. Once the four weeks are over, the fan-generated song will be complete and Carly will perform it during the season finale of American Idol on FOX!

In addition to assisting with the creation of the song, this year fans across the country also will have the opportunity to help impact various aspects of Carly’s American Idol finale performance, by weighing in on things like set design, creating a truly collaborative finale performance. Tweet your opinions with the hashtag #cokeperfectharmony.

Carly made a video specifically for CollegeCandy readers telling you guys to vote for your favorite lyrics! Listen to what she has to say, and then enter to ask Carly a question of your own! To enter, leave your question here in the comments and we’ll pick THREE questions to send her way by April 1st.
