Was Gucci Mane Raped on the Set of “Spring Breakers”? [WTF Friday]

Rapper Gucci Mane plays James Franco’s rival in the upcoming film Spring Breakers. In case you haven’t seen the trailer for this film it’s full of bikinis, bad guys, drugs, guns, and sex. Speaking of sex, Gucci Mane was set to film a sex scene on the last day of production — at 4am. The film’s director, Harmony Korine, stated that Gucci’s entourage gets higher than M.I.A’s Paper Planes all day. Korine also mentioned that when the film crew arrived at Gucci’s house, the weed smoke was out of control and Gucci was “basically catatonic”. When told he needed to film the sex scene now, Gucci requested the actress to “ride him so he wouldn’t have to do any physical labour”.

What ends up happening is Gucci Mane completely passes out (snoring and all) while a girl is having sex with him. We’re not completely sure if they actually had sex or not, the director states “she was riding his dick the whole time”. The crazy thing is they kept filming for 45minutes! When Gucci woke up he stated, “I feel real nice. I feel like Mozart’s on my dick”, and then went back to his slumber. The question now is, was Gucci Mane sexually assaulted/raped? What would’ve happened if it was the other way around? What if an actresses was so doped up she passed out during a sex scene? Would they keep filming? Would the guy still be rubbing up against her?

Some would argue that Gucci Mane consented because he was told ahead of time that a sex scene would be filmed that day. But if he’s high as a kite when they told him, would that count as consent? And let’s say he wasn’t under the influence but still passed out mid-sex, wouldn’t you stop? I’m pretty sure if someone woke up and realized someone was having sex with them, they would feel violated — regardless of whether they consented earlier in the night. So back to the question on whether things would’ve been different if this happened to an actress instead. I think things would be different. I think they would’ve stopped filming to make her sober up before heading back into the bedroom. I think the actress would’ve pressed some sort of charge if a guy’s genitals were inside/rubbing up against hers while she was unconscious. I guess the main question is, is there a double standard when it comes to sexual assault? If a woman sexually assaulted a male, would her consequences be the same if it was the other way around? What do you guys think? Was Gucci Mane raped? Would this have happened to an actress?
