Can you believe that Legally Blonde is almost twelve years old? Yes, if it were a person it would be in middle school right now. Awkward. But, unlike another rom-com released in July 2001 (yes, you, America’s Sweethearts), it became an instant classic.Elle Woods bend-and-snapped her way directly into our hearts with her determined and fashionable outlook. She got the [right] guy, rejected the [wrong] guy, won the case and looked fab while doing it. Plus, she even has her own musical. If there’s a huge rise in female lawyers for Generation Y, we’ll all know why.
Although Elle gets all the credit (it is her movie after all… and Bruiser’s) there were a lot of people there to help her along the way. And, twelve years later you have to wonder, what is everyone doing now?
Check out our interview with Legally Blonde writer Karen McCullah Lutz here! She dishes on her favorite characters, what Gerard Butler’s like behind the scenes and sorority life.
