Shain Gandee, the 21-year-old breakout star of MTV’s Buckwild (really, the only reason to watch) was tragically found dead today. Shain, his uncle and another unidentified man were found in Shain’s Ford Bronco. The group was presumably doing some off-road, four wheeling as they were won’t to do in the reality series. Sure the kids on the show were prone to “ratchet” behavior and shenanigans but (from what I saw) they seemed like generally good kids even if they were a bit weird. Sad. The police don’t suspect foul play though it is still unclear how the trio actually died.
There will be an interracial version of Romeo and Juliet heading to Broadway which will star Orlando Bloom as Romeo and Condola Rashad as Juliet. As long as the actor is good it shouldn’t matter? Direct David Leveaux said and The New York Times reports:
“They could have been any number of different ethnicities. The two actors I wanted to be together producing sparks just happened to be those two and I followed my nose in casting the families.” He decided to make the Capulets an all-black clan and the Montagues all-white to reflect real life rather than make a comment on race, he added.”
It’s about time we stop limiting our casting to certain races just because they were originally played by a certain race.
Hanson – yes, Hanson – are releasing a new record.
Amanda Bynes continues to drop wisdom on Twitter.
Chris Brown is trying to convince the world he is sorry about “the whole Rihanna thing” again, so that he can sell more records. He said on the Today Show:
“Me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is, but most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong, you know, and having to deal with myself and forgive myself in the same breath and you know, being able to apologize to Rihanna and being able to be that man that can be a man.”
You didn’t really lose that much, Chris.
