So, I have a lot of crap. And by crap I mean cluttery things that really need little homes of their own in my space. That’s why I love decorative bowls, cups, plates and boxes that make me look organized, and therefore, put together🙂.
I found these awesomely beautiful, yet still subtly classy glitter-dipped mason jars, and I want to pass on this little gem to CC readers. We can declutter and add glitter! Which makes everything better. So, just follow these steps to make your own, then your life will suddenly become less stressful and more enjoyable! Get it? Got it? Good!
What you’ll need:
-As many mason jars as you want to decorate (so a lot!)
-Spray paint, color of your choice (but metallics look the most bad ass FYI)
-Small jar of Mod Podge
-Glitter (any color(s) you want! Ke$h it up!)
-Piece of cardboard
What to do:
1.) Place your jar(s) upside down on the cardboard.
2.) Spray paint the jar evenly, make sure to not put the nozzle too close to the jar itself. The paint won’t distribute evenly and may drip along the sides.
3.) Allow the jar to dry for a few hours, don’t be afraid to check on it, you’ll be able to tell when it’s dry!
4.) Once your jar is dry, secure a line of tape around the bottom that sections off the amount on the bottom of the jar that you want to have glitter on it (make sure you don’t press the tape on too hard so it doesn’t rip off paint). This will ensure a straight, clean line of glitter like the beautiful pics!
5.) You’ll Mod Podge smaller sections at a time along the side you taped off (if you were to do it all at once sections would dry before you got the glitter on them), and sprinkle glitter on that section right after you applied the Mod Podge.
6.) Once you’ve made it all around the bottom of the jar, let it dry for another hour. If you want to secure the glitter well, you can paint another thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the glitter. Don’t worry it dries clear!
7.) Let dry for another hour or so.
8.) Declutter your life!
