Saturday night, George Zimmerman was found ‘Not Guilty’ by a Florida jury, which aquitted him of 2nd degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. If Zimmerman was to be convicted, he faced charges up to life in prison.

According to TMZ, the not guilty verdict means the jury found Zimmerman acted in self-defense. This means that the jury believed that Zimmerman  justifiably used deadly force and reasonably believed that such force was necessary to prevent either his own death or great bodily harm to himself.

Zimmerman was charged after shooting and killing Martin in a Florida suburb in 2012.

After the verdict was announce, Twitter erupted with outrage. Celebrities took to Twitter to express their feelings about Zimmerman’s fate in 140 characters or less. Some expressed anger. Some sadness and grief. Some complete shock.
