The King and Queen of basically like, the world, Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z, showed up to show their support for those affected by the shocking verdict in the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case. One week after a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of murder and manslaughter charges, the married couple joined protestors in New York City to kick off a nationwide rally in support of the slain teenager.

“Justice for Trayvon” rallies took place in some 100 cities across the country, including NYC.

The day before they showed up at the rally, Beyonce asked her fans to sign a petition that would ask the Department of Justice to open a civil rights cast against Zimmerman.

More than 588,000 people have signed the petition so far, but there is still a ways to go.

Head on over to Celebuzz to check out photos from the rally!
