Miley Cyrus admitted to DailyMail that she is in fact singing about the drug MDMA in her latest single, “We Can’t Stop.” The song lyric is, “Dancing with molly,” so it’s a little hard to deny.
She said, “If you’re aged ten [the lyric is] Miley. If you know what I’m talking about then you know. I just wanted it to be played on the radio and they’ve already had to edit it so much.”
I think Miley is correct. When I was a kid I didn’t understand any of the sexual content to songs I readily sung along with. All of that stuff goes over your head and if you pick up on the real meaning of the lyrics, then, well, you already knew.
She added, “I don’t think people have a hard time understanding that I’ve grown up. You can Google me and you know what I’m up to — you know what the lyric is saying.” Do you think its wrong for artists to sing about drug use?
