4 Back To School Outfits That’ll Make You Hotter Than August
Here at CC we love molding young minds and being viewed as mentors and role models. We can tackle any roommate disaster, we’ve had them. We can show you how to keep your grades and your social life in tact, we’re mostly prime examples of that as well. We can maybe also tell you where to find the best parties…but you didn’t hear that from me.
Because of our extensive knowledge of all things college (which totally rhymed, by the way) we’re doing a back to school series of all the TOTALLY essential information you’re going to need this year, and I’m leading the way. What makes me qualified? Perhaps it’s my super senior status, or the fact that I’ve made all of these mistakes and more that makes me an expert, I’m not quite sure, but trust me. You’re in good hands.
This week we’re discussing first day outfits. You obviously want to make a good fashion impression — whether you’re a freshman or taking a victory lap for your senior year like me. I think it says a lot to the general population if you try a little bit harder than normal on your first day back. It lets the professors know that you mean business, and you never know who might end up in one of your classes. Last year on the first day back for the fall semester, I literally ran into a boy I had harbored a massive crush on for ages. Thankfully, I looked pretty adorable so it wasn’t a complete mess, but it was still pretty awkward. This year? My roommate found out she has a class with her ex. Yuck. So it’s important that on the first day (at least) you try and look your best.
So here are the four looks we put together so that you’re as hot as the weather come your first day (or week, if you’ve already started).
This look is great for your inner flower child. I love the crop tops and high waisted shorts trend that’s super popular right now. Pair it when a simple bow and your best pair of Vans, and you have an outfit tailor made for the modern day hippie. We also found this adorable brown structured backpack that will look great with anything! Shopping Details Here!
Preppy and Studious:
This outfit says, “Hi, I’m here to learn, but also I like fun.” Any button down top like the chambray one above makes a look a little more sophisticated when you wear it buttoned, but when you pair it with the high waisted patterned shorts you get a great look for transitioning into fall. Throw the fedora on because I know you didn’t wake up in enough time to shower, and grab the adorable sailor inspired bag and head to your first class! Shopping details here!
Tricking The System:
I like to call this one “Tricking The System” because that’s exactly what you’re doing. If you’re like me, you’ve been living in maxi dresses ALL SUMMER LONG. Why? They’re adorable and dressy, but also it’s like you’re not even wearing clothes. The fabric is super breathable, and you can always dress them down or up. For this look, I paired it with a black infinity scarf and some simple black stud earrings. The tote as a backpack is also TOTEally adorable. Throw your hair in a messy top knot and you’ll look polished while feeling oh-so comfy. Shopping details here!
Rebel Without A Cause:
If you’re like me and like to make a statement with your clothes, this is my favorite outfit for you guys. Bold clothes for bold girls. Cotton skater skirts are going to be really in this fall and can be really feminine, but you can make it edgy by adding a muscle tee from your favorite band like I did above. Rock some black converse or my favorite fall trend, combat boots, pair it with some bold jewelery and a simple black bag. Do your Joan Jett thang and don’t give a damn about your reputation.
