If you’re anything like me, you spend at least 6 hours a day on Pinterest imagining what your life would be like if you were a little bit more fashionable, a slightly better cook, or had just a touch more money in your bank account. From perfectly mowed lawns and beautifully dressed babies, the life you yearn for via finely curated pin boards hardly resembles your actual life — you know, the one that plays out each day from the 12×15 sq ft dorm room you call home.
While I can’t serve you up an angelic Pinterest-worthy baby in Crew Cuts (thank god), I can show you some of the most campus-friendly fall fashions I’ve been pinning lately — plus how to get the look for less.
As we head into gradually cooler months, layers are going to be your key to comfort. I loved what this girl was wearing because she’s embracing comfy basics while looking pulled together. Her heels are to die for, but might not be the most practical for getting around campus. I opted to include some cute black slippers with a chain embellishment that also pull the outfit together nicely. Shopping details here!
Fall Weekends Were Made for Leather Jackets
That scarf!! While I couldn’t find anything budget friendly that had that much va-va-voom, the one I did find at ModCloth is only $13, so it wouldn’t be reckless to buy two and layer them up. Again, this look embraces layers, so you can add and remove pieces as the temperature fluctuates. Happy apple picking! Shopping details here!
Baseball Tees Are the New 8AM Standard
Don’t even try to tell me you just need to wear sweatpants to your early morning classes. There’s no excuse to look that ratty where baseball tees exist! Paired with some boyfriend jeans, a sleek pony tail and a punchy red lip tint, you’ll look like a million bucks — just in case your TA turns out to be a Channing Tatum look-alike. Hey, a girl can dream. Shopping details here!
