Vera Wang Designs the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders’ Uniforms…They’re Kinda Ugly

Vera Wang has designed some truly unexciting uniforms for the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders. While hers is a name that would typically incite wide-eyed wonder among fashionable women, I really wish I could have been present when she showed her collection to the Eagles girls. I doubt anyone felt like they were wearing a one-of-a-kind runway-inspired creation.

The Eagles Cheerleaders will debut the new uniforms at the September 15 season opener game. The Eagles’ official site says:

The new signature pieces will be unveiled throughout the course of the season and encapsulate the Eagles brand with the incorporation of logo motifs and more midnight green into the modern, sleek designs. The squad will be dressed entirely in Vera Wang, as the designer also custom made a black sparkle sneaker for the squad to wear with their uniforms for a finishing touch to the contemporary and distinctive look.

Am I way off base to think that these uniforms are essentially glorified boyshorts and sports bras? I think VS PINK could have put together a cuter collection. Has anyone tapped them yet to design for a team’s cheerleaders?
