Fall is finally here! Pumpkin spice is everywhere, leaves are changing colors and it’s time for our closets to change as well. As college students, I know it’s near impossible to buy new clothes for every season so I think using your entire wardrobe year round is the way to go! When it comes to transitioning from summer to fall, the key is layering. So here are a few tips on how to keep all your favorite summer pieces in the mix.

1. Jackets

Jackets are the best fashion piece you can have for the fall, they are versatile and if you get one in a neutral color, like an olive green, a black, or a brown you could layer it with anything. Take all your summer tanks and tees and throw a jacket on top and you’re set!

2. Scarves

For the warmer days a thin cotton scarf is a great piece and when it gets a little breezier a knit infinity scarf is perfect to pair with a fall sweater. If you wear a scarf with a knit sweater, leggings, and a pair of combat boots you’ll be cozy and chic.

3. Cardigans

Cardigans are perfect for fall because they are not only super comfortable but they go great with jeans or leggings. Along the same lines of the jacket a cardigan can be worn with any top or tee shirt you have from the summer. Another great use for cardigans is with your maxi or cute summer dresses.

4. Stockings

Grab all your summer skirts (and shorts!) and throw a pair of stockings on underneath (if you’re feeling funky, patterned tights will add an extra edge) and you’ve got some super cute fall bottoms. Skater skirts were very in this summer, so pair them with some dark or flesh toned stockings and you’re all set.

5. Hats

Last but not least: hats! I love summer hats as much as the next girl but beanies are my fave! They go great with almost any outfit and they are comfortable and warm.

Here are my tips! Any ideas from you guys?
