Lorde, the world’s favorite angsty 17 year-old songstress, has released a cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” for the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. True 80s babies will recognize the song from the ending credits of Real Genius (starring a pre-paunchy Val Kilmer), and you’ve probably all heard it on I Love the 80s playlists. Lorde’s awesome twist on the jaded classic is not only a great fit for the Jennifer Lawrence blockbuster, it’s an appropriate addition to her anti-capitalism repertoire.
