If you’re still stuffed from eating too much turkey and hating your life, I suggest that you go commit a random act of kindness! Go help your mom with the dishes, take your little sister shopping, or call an old friend! Being a gracious and helpful person has scientifically been proven to lighten your mood and make you a happier person.
Happiness is correlated with how much kindness you convey to others! Go figure!
When we’re down in the dumps with those wintertime blues, it’s easy to take out our inexplicable sadness on those around us. We get moody and feisty and a bit rude. Instead of shutting down and dismissing those around us, we should actually just ask them if they want to cuddle for a little bit. Studies show that cuddling actually releases a calming neurotransmitter called Oxytocin that makes you feel better.
