It’s a scary world out there after you graduate. I’m absolutely terrified, and feel completely unprepared, because as useful as my classes have been for teaching me how to formulate an argument about Nietzche, they haven’t exactly taught me about finding a job or paying taxes. However, they have equipped me with excellent reading skills, so perhaps books are the best way to find out how to be a functioning adult.
I’ve rounded up 10 completely essential must-read books for finding your way through life after graduation. These books may not be the beautifully written, philosophical, heartbreaking fiction I’m used to reading, but they are really useful and practical. They’ll teach you how to do basic grown up stuff like networking, writing a cover letter, eating food other than pizza, and saving money. Read them all now, before a full time job sucks up all your time and energy.
