I’ve never colored my hair. Ever. When I was 12, I told my mom I wanted fire engine red streaks. She said it was fine if I paid for it. Being the broke tween I was, that was the end of that. As I got older, I realized how much money goes into maintaining highlights, lowlights, bleaching and the like, so I still haven’t taken the plunge and gone under the foil. But with so many awesome temporary hair dyes out there, what’s the use of spending the money when you can DIY for way cheaper?
Obviously, if you want professional-looking color, you should hit up the salon. But if you’re dying to try a crazy color or streak of a new hue but are afraid of commitment, these temporary and semi-permanent formulas are a great way to have fun and experiment.
