fashion or porn

NSS Mag created a game called “Fashion or Porn?” The quiz takes fragmented photos, a nipple here, a booty there, and asks you based on a glimpse of the image if it’s fashion or porn. The results are pretty incredible. While the quiz itself has no mission statement it’s readily apparent that it’s posing many questions about art, nudity, objectification and sexuality.

When is nudity considered art and not pornography? Think about Justin Timberlake’s video for “Tunnel Vision” versus Robin Thicke’s video for “Blurred Lines.”

Is it ever OK to objectify men and women?

Is it worse to use sex to sell products as opposed to use sex to sell pleasure, its true intention?

Is the objectification of the female body in fashion inherently problematic because it promotes unattainable beauty standards?

Is the objectification of the female body in pornography problematic because it gives men permission to degrade women?

Why are pornography and fashion so similar?

Play the game here.
