An art studio called Child’s Own Studio takes children’s drawings and turns them into actual dolls. This is so cool, even as an “adult” I’d like to see my drawings turned into 3D figures. It’s also a similar project to the one by the Monster Engine that turns children’s drawings into real, enhanced paintings which also very cool results.
The company was started by Wendy Tsao who created her first soft doll from her very own son’s drawings, “After making a softie (my first ever) based on a sketch that my 4 year old son was constantly drawing. When my son saw the softie, he recognized it immediately and with so much excitement that I realized this is what I should be doing with my time and energy. So I began a business making softies based on children’s drawings. Since then, I’ve custom made around 400 soft toys based on children’s drawings, each one as unique as the child who drew it.”
What a cool idea and an awesome present.
