Miley Cyrus dropped her new video for “Adore You,” and it’s erm, meh. Every now and again a young woman tries desperately hard to look sexy by simulating what she saw on TV or late night HBO and looks like a total tool. No, I’m not saying it’s not OK for a girl to be sexual or that Miley is being too sexual or that Miley isn’t sexy, I’m saying that sometimes her attempts at being flirtatious flop the way most people look like psychopaths when they try to bat their eyelashes. Remember when Courtney Stodden was making those weird faces into the camera because she was trying to be like Marilyn Monroe but instead resembled an actual satanist?
This is the kind of thing that happens before you realize the most attractive version of your self is just your actual self. In the video Miley basically is taking a video selfie of her writhing under the covers trying to look sensual. These are the largest sheets, in the biggest bed in history, it’s almost as if she is might be on a Hollywood set. She then proceeds to take a bath in knitwear. Why?
