When I was about 13, I got my first crush on a boy. He was tall and really cute. He was a musician, played guitar and sang. He was really funny too. The only problem was that he was a little too old for me and lived in New York City. We would have had to do a long-distance thing, and I just don’t think I could handle that. Oh did I mention that he was a cast member on Saturday Night Live?
Yeah, my first real crush was on Jimmy Fallon–resident cutie of SNL and current Late Night host.
Truth be told, though it would be semi-acceptable for us to date now that a few years have gone by, I still have a major crush on him. Thankfully, it seems that so does the rest of America because he will be taking over for Jay Leno on The Tonight Show starting in February!
Fallon has that whole “nicest guy in Hollywood,” wholesome, family-friendly vibe going on, which is why I have a feeling he’ll do amazing as the new host of The Tonight Show. Plus Jay Leno is so like, our parents generation. Baby boomers, move over. There is a new man in town.
NBC released the first minute-long promo for Jimmy’s takeover, and it’s just perfect. (Even a very, very, very brief showout to Conan’s short lived hosting gig makes the cut in this video.)
Check it out below and get excited for February!
