The Gone Girl movie will be so good. Gone Girl is a best-selling thriller by Gillian Flynn. This book is SO GOOD—no, it’s too good. I read all 300+ pages in one sitting so when I heard it would be adapted into a film directed by David Fincher (The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and star Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike as Nick and Amy Dune I got very excited and a little scared. How in the hell would they turn such a complicated book told from two perspectives about a wife gone missing, a husband accused of her possible murder, a poisoned relationship, two failing New York City writers who leave for the Midwest and plot twists galore without fucking it up? Welp, I don’t know but I am going to find out.

One way to keep things fresh is by not sticking to the source material, the other is to have the author, Gillian Flynn, write the script. She said, “There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I’d spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie.” Oh yeah! Could be as perfect as the book, could  be a disaster, I am willing to shell out my $15 at the theater to find out.
