Lena Dunham, creator and star of HBO’s hit comedy series, GIRLS, gives her fans a sneak peak of her greatly anticipated book, Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s Learned, earlier today. In an Instagram picture, Dunham proudly holds the book’s cover up, showing off its retro pink and black block letters that spell out the book’s title. In the picture’s caption, Dunham writes, “It’s official. Coming 10/7/14.”
According to Duham’s introduction of the book on Amazon.com, Not That Kind of Girl focuses on the missteps of Dunham’s early adulthood with the hope that these stories will help guide her readers in navigating their own lives. Dunham says, “No, I’m not a sexpert, a psychologist, or a registered dietician. I am not a married mother of three or an owner of a successful hosiery franchise. But I am a girl with a keen interest in self-actualization, sending hopeful dispatches from the front lines of that struggle.”
Allegedly, Dunham made a $3.5 million deal with Random House publishers to write Not That Kind of Girl. The book is now available to preorder on Amazon.
