Oprah is funding a Lindsay Lohan documentary for some reason. While I do believe Lindsay is an interesting person to look at because she may or may not have overcome drug addiction after having been destroyed by many things ranging from a negligent mother, an abusive father and early childhood fame, Lindsay has always been a bit dishonest. Not to mention her career isn’t exactly thriving. I watched The Canyons and I was amazed at how bad it was, like genuinely awestruck. She hasn’t done much since and so it would be nice to see what she’s up to.
Lindsay says, “There’s nothing left in having a drink for me. What’s left in that feeling? Nothing. There’s no party that I haven’t gone to; there’s no person that I haven’t hung out with…” Then of course after rehab images surface of her partying and possible drinking—that’s what I mean by that dishonesty.
Lindsay talks about wanting stability then also admits she is prone to self sabotaging. The documentary already shows her to being the “hard to work with actress” that so many directors have claimed she was, after she refuses to let the camera crew into her home. Her sober coach doesn’t seem to know if she is sober. She cries. She argues with her father and with the filmmakers. It’s interesting to see but why does she want us to see it? What good is it going to do for her health? She’s going to get a bit more publicity because we will all see she is a mess but why would directors want to work with a mess?
Oprah gets pissed she is misbehaving and sits her down for a heart to heart. Only time will tell how this turns out. If Oprah can’t save you then perhaps, you need to save yourself.
