This winter was (still is?) the worst I’ve experienced. I mean, I’m pretty sure Elsa from Frozen was chilling somewhere between the Northeast and the Midwest because that ish was brutal. The side effects of a bad winter range from dangerous (accidents, frostbite, etc.) to disappointing (I haven’t had a chance to wear any of my cute shoes in months) to….fattening. If you’re anything like me, you have a few pounds around your midsection that were NOT there a few months ago. And if you’re a lot like me, you basically have to drag yourself kicking and screaming to the gym in preparation for swimsuit season.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that cute workout gear makes exercising a little bit more fun and maybe they’re on to something. I mean, ain’t nothing fun about doubling over in pain while trying to run a mile in one of your dad’s old tee shirts and the gym shorts you got in fifth grade gym class. Maybe a brand new set of coordinated exercise pieces will (literally and figuratively) brighten up the gym experience.

Because I’m not a workout buff (by any stretch of the imagination) I refuse to shell out for, like, Lululemon pants. There’s really no way I’ll ever look good while sweating profusely and struggling to lift three-pound weights, so why drop $80 on some ass-huging yoga pants (especially since I really don’t believe in yoga pants as a fashion statement). With that being said, I firmly believe that you don’t need to spend a lot of money in order to find cute workout gear. Check out some of the cheap finds I’m into below.
