“Fancy” isn’t just an adjective it’s a feeling (not the British kind where you “fancy someone” and like them). Fancy is a state of mind. The definition of the word is “elaborate in decoration or structure,” which is an easy property to apply to yourself. Fancy for me is in the little things. Pinterest to me is fancy because it has all the pretty things that certainly aren’t necessities in life but definitely make you feel good because they create a warmer, more positive aesthetic, which in a way is very essential. Fancy is in the details. It’s the candles on your dinner table or the flower in your hair. Fancy is a stroll through the park on a particularly sunny day. Fancy is, in a lot of ways totally arbitrary and personal, but there are just those certain things that make you feel fancy because you feel like you want just a little bit above and beyond. There’s cheese and then there’s cheese on a plate.
