The Best Non-Required Reading of the Summer

bernadette

There is something amazingĀ about reading a book that is not for school, work, or any other reason beside the fact that you feel like it. Whether you’re hitting the beach or just taking a lunch break, any time you set aside for yourself is perfect for catching up on that list of books you’ve been trying to tackle forever (if it’s in a note on your iPhone, ditto). It’s time to get cracking on that list and pick up one of these Best Non-Required Reads of the summer!

Take it from John Green inĀ his novel An Abundance of Katherines: “Books are the ultimate Dumpees; put them down and they’ll wait for you forever, pay attention to them and they always love you back.” So, take a page out of Green’s book (see what I did there) and get to reading!

I drink a lot of coffee. A LOT. And love animated movies a lot. A LOT. I'm also interested in books, TV, movies, and whatever project any current or former Saturday Night Live cast member might be working on (here's looking at you, Andy Samberg). Questions I often ask myself: "How many romantic comedy references is too many?" and "Are five puns excessive for one sentence?"
