I reluctantly like Pharrell’s album. I don’t know why I say reluctantly. It’s almost because he is such a skilled producer he knows how to manipulate you with catchy, riffy beats. The songs get stuck in your head almost against your will. I have no idea why the video for “Come Get It Bae,” begins with the phrase “Beauty Has No Expiration Date.” You would think you’re about to see a bunch of old broads about to look fierce but instead it’s just a group of young gals and Miley Cyrus. There might be a couple of women in their forties but it’s hard to tell. Either way the song is about two people reuniting to bone each other, which has little to do with inner or outer beauty or our cultural obsession with you, so IDK. Miley does her usual thang: she shows off her hard body, makes silly faces and wears a weird headpiece. Overall it’s as cute and playful as you would expect any Pharrell video to be.
