18 Rules To Have The Best Sex

better sex

Sex doesn’t have to be as complicated as our favorite teen melodramas make us think it is. Finding a compatible sexual partner is a bit more difficult but there are ways to ensure that you have better, healthier and more satisfying sex. It does require having uncomfortable conversations. It does require a bit of self-reflection. Most of all, it requires making some mistakes along the way. All of that is OK. It’s best to clumsily try and improve then not to not even bother.

1. Know your sexual boundaries. Meaning, if your gut is telling you not to do something, don’t do it.

2. Communicate your sexual boundaries. One thing might seem completely normal to somebody else but that doesn’t mean you have to be OK with. Avoid potential harm or arguments by making what you’re willing to do clear.

3. Do your research. Don’t jump into something new without understanding what it fully means. Whips may sound like fun . . . until somebody gets hurt.

4. Always use contraceptives.

5. Don’t be afraid to tell your bae when they’re doing something you don’t like.

6. Similarly it’s just as important to say when they do something you do like. Positive reinforcement, ladies.

7. Don’t ever feel ashamed about what turns you.

8. Don’t be afraid to try something new because somebody else made you feel guilty or ashamed about it.

9. Don’t have sex unless you’re in the mood but don’t be afraid to get in the mood.

10. Remember that just because you liked doing that one thing that one time doesn’t mean you’ll like it every time or have to do it every time.

11. If you want bae to do something, tell bae. They cannot read your mind.

12. Accept that things will literally get messy.

13. Accept that you will be vulnerable. You’ll make funny noises and faces. There is no need to be embarrassed.

14. Understand the limitations of your sexual encounter: Is it a casual hookup? The beginnings of a relationship? Have reasonable expectations or you’ll be disappointed.

15. Always pee afterward unless you want a urinary tract infection.

16. Don’t forget the importance of foreplay and variety.

17. Don’t feel pressured to have a certain amount because of your age, gender or anything like that.

18. Mistakes will be made. That’s OK. It’s how you handle them that’s important.
